National Cherry Queen 2026 Shirt

A custom illustrated shirt celebrating the 2026 National Cherry Queen and Traverse City heritage.

The brief. Create a commemorative shirt celebrating Magdalen Kleinrichert's recognition as the 2026 National Cherry Queen, incorporating Don Orr's iconic A-frame storefront.

The opportunity. As a Traverse City staple since 1953, Don Orr Ski N' Beach Haus has a longstanding connection and support to the local community. Magdalen's recognition as the 2026 National Cherry Queen presented a special opportunity to celebrate a meaningful milestone through custom apparel. The goal was to create a memorable keepsake for those closest to the celebration while honoring the local character and traditions that make Traverse City special.

The solution. Studio Roo developed a custom illustrated shirt featuring a playful character-style portrait of Magdalen wearing her crown, paired with Don Orr's recognizable A-frame storefront. Celebratory typography and subtle cherry details bring the composition together. Designed as a single-color graphic for heather red and gray shirts, the finished piece offers a wearable celebration of Magdalen's achievement with a distinctly Traverse City connection.
